Anesipho Dyosi is a praise poet and a model that uses both platforms to be the change she wants to see in the world.

Anesipho Dyosi is a Umtata-born praise poet and a model. She grew up in a rural area of Umtata, Tyalarha, where she lived throughout her childhood. She is currently enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), where she is doing her second year in Business Management. Her pageantry modelling debut was in 2019 when she was crowned as the 2nd Princess at Miss Kasi 2019.
I loved modelling from childhood but I never got the opportunity to be in the industry since such opportunities are rare in the rural areas. I have always been passionate about it and I saw it as a platform to use my voice and be the change that I wish to see in the world.
Dyosi believes that modelling is about transformation because it always transforms how people view themselves and the world. She discovered her spiritual gift of being a praise poet when she was doing Grade 7 in 2013. Whenever something broke her spirit, she’d suddenly praise and express how she feels through praising. She didn’t understand it back then because she thought that it was a temper. As she grew up, she saw other praise poets and learnt about it, and that’s when she knew that she was gifted.
As a person who is a praise poet, I am a slave of emotions. Thus I always wish to see only good things around me. So I have always seen modelling as a platform to express my thoughts since we are always given opportunities to speak, and more especially when you are a title holder, that’s when people start taking you serious and listen to you.
Dyosi has done herself proud throughout her modelling journey since 2019. She holds the following numerous titles: Miss Kasi 2019 (2nd princess); Miss Cape Town Legacy Finalists 2020; Miss Kay Activist (2nd princess); Miss Elegance 2020 (2nd princess); Miss Educational WC (Queen), and Public Choice Winner 2021; Miss Face of Goodness (Queen), Ambassador, Social Butterfly, and Charity (2nd princess) 2021; and Miss CPUT Finalists 2021. She said that the online modelling industry kills the nature of the field. She commented that the online modelling industry judges according to what the public says, and that’s when most popular people win. This had denatured the art of modelling. Dyosi comments on the state of the modelling industry giving space to dark-skinned girls.
It is very important because it has given me the power to embrace my skin color like I’m embracing it for the last time. Most dark skinned girls out there are still not confident because they think that their black is not beautiful because of what the society has labelled dark skinned people to be.
Dyosi is planning to take modelling as a career going forward. There’s nothing she’s passionate about and could see herself doing than modelling, she says. She’s currently under no modelling agency and says that she’s self-taught and draws inspiration from her opponents too. She has stood this strong with three principles: believing in oneself, being yourself, and doing you.

Dyosi had grace herself with new accomplishments two weeks ago. She was crowned Face of Goodness 2021 after failing to retain a substantial title in Miss CPUT 2021. Although she was defeated after not making it beyond the final cut in Miss CPUT 20121, Miss Face of Goodness 2021 came as a rescue accompanied by floods of emotion.
