Kweila 604 is the living proof of what it means to be from eKasi, and grow to monetise your Kasi sound.

Kweila 604 whose real name is Sinethemba Holi started to make music in 2011 with Sphaza rap. Being American influenced by Eminem and Eazy-E, he grew an interest in rap. He could not fluently speak English at the time, and Sphaza was the most relatable reference. Pro Kid became the rapper Kweila saw his craft through his lens. In 2013, Kweila started rapping in English and spotted the difference. The difference was how he has grown musically from vernacular to spitting in English. He lost the plot of his academics after discovering the new obsession, rap music. His father noticed this sudden distraction and kept Kweila indoors most of the time so that he could attend to his school work.

Both of my parents wanted that but we weren’t on the same page but I kept on focusing on music instead of school and my dad died knowing that I wanna do music and I believe music will take me places even though he wanted me to focus on school

Kweila’s first song is My Best which features Gunslinger, Expow Zza, and Heater Baba, released in 2017 on Audiomack. Since then, Kweila had been working his way to the top until his debut album, Jungle Boy.

The scene is full of dope artists but there’s no working together cause some are still degrading the young up coming artists and others dissin’ each other so there’s no team work even though the artists are good.

Kweila’s top 3 Hip Hop artists in Komani are respectively Blxck XIIc, Tony da Vinci, and X-Nado. He chose these gentlemen because he believe that they are hard workers who let their work do the talking for them. They have the “sleep is for the rich” mentality and they avoid unnecessary beef, Kweila says. He would like to work with the artists and has contacted them with no reply from their emails.

On the 18th of September 2021, Kweila released his anticipated album, Jungle Boy, consisting of 12 tracks.

Uhmm my life motivated the title, Jungle Boy meaning my life is a Jungle and not everybody survives in it as you know the Jungle is Wild and not a comfortable place obvious and l…so I looked at my life then I saw that my life is full of hard times and challenges …and that to have coin and bring bread on the table at home I have to go and climb the mountains and dig herbs all alone out there and go sell em with weed at town with the Rastas and that’s how I survive and in the Jungle it’s only predators who survive.

The theme of the album is surviving the struggle and its structure from Jungle Boy (Intro) to To The Top. Kweila had also the grace of working with his ex, Asoso on Be Mine. He is hoping to achieve more listeners and make the project known in Komani before going out to the world.

what i learned from myself is that hard work always pays off at the end of the day and worse conditions makes a champions and I gotta keep myself with people with the same energy as mine and what i unlearned is laziness and negative vibes. And also unlearned degradation.
