Chaser Clothing has been making waves with its Facebook page followed by over thousand people within a month.

Komani has been growing immensely when it comes to clothing brands. The town’s residents no longer find necessity to go to the nearest Mr Price, The Fix, and Sportscene to name a few commercial clothing stores to find a beast of swag . Brands like Chaser Clothing has their back. Mvula, who is the founder of the brand said that the merch was long time coming but he had to study the industry. “I wanted to introduce my brand but I wanted to be different because there are many brands in Komani. I knew that people would say, ‘there’s another brand in Komani’ when I release mine hence my brand’s slogan is ‘Oh Great Another Brand’ (#OhGreatAnotherBrand).” he said. His brand’s logo is a Jaguar which most people misinterpreted to a Cheetah since the brand is Chaser. “A Jaguar studies its prey before it attacks. That’s what I did because ever since I stopped doing Epic Jeans with Amoh(Amos) Forbes, I studied the fashion industry attentively. I called the brand Chaser because I was going to chase this dream I had of being in the fashion industry. I know what I wanted and I was not going to let it slide. There’s a famous phrase/quote people use, ‘if it’s mine it’s going to find its way to me.’ and I don’t believe in that phrase because if you want something you go and get it.”. Epic Jeans were jeans that were customised by Amos and Luxolo partnered with him at making the brand the next big thing in Komani. As they were about to reach their peak at their game, the similar jeans became popular and were sold in Chinese stores. They had to ditch the brand because they lost potential customers.

Ilinge residing Sive Ozil Manqunyana became the first official promoter for the brand after Mvula contacted him to work with him. Mvula gave Manqunyana an offer to be a brand ambassador but he denied the offer. According to Manqunyana though, he only signed a paperwork for working on Chaser Clothing as a promoter and can not vividly attest to the brand ambassador deal. When asked if he’d be offered again a brand ambassador deal what would he say, he said, “No. I would not accept the deal.” because he loves working with people and that would too grow the brand working with more people. Mvula approached Amos to be the second promoter since they worked great together when producing Epic Jeans and Amos is a close friend of Mvula. “Me being a promoter, it’s just me supporting what I love which is clothes and my friend’s movement. I think Luxolo saw how I was promoting EpicJeans and NR(Ntswemp Rush) Merchandise. How I was dedicated on my work.” Amos concluded.

Mvula added that his target audience is ages 15 to 25 because he feels like that’s the age group that loves clothes and fashion. Especially from his geographic target market which is Komani, Gqeberha(known as Port Elizabeth), Cape Town and Johannesburg. The little time in the industry for Mvula has had some sweet moments than sour as some of the brand owners started inviting him on the socials which translated to him being an act of respect. As you all know how negativity can be rooted in Komani, some of the people are ridiculing Chaser Clothing’s prices without considering its quality and the capital spent for production purposes. The first batch of merch will be available by Thursday, this week. Mvula will be doing free courier deliveries to any customers outside of Komani from the 25th March to the 2nd of April so don’t ncish yourselves. “I would love to see the brand growing and becoming big and ruling the streets. Like I would to see the brand out here being recognized and taking over.” Manqunyana said when he was asked about his best wishes for the brand. Mvula just wishes for his potential customers to buy the merch like they bought the idea and for them to feel comfortable and swagged up in Chaser Clothing. Mvula concluded that there are potential brand ambassadors he has on his list. It is just a matter of announcing and it will be a soon reveal.
