The 2020 established clothing brand, SMOKE Clothing started making waves later last year. When its founder, Liyema Mjandana introduced the idea of “where’s there’s smoke there’s fire” to the public, elevating Ezibeleni culture of fashion.

Mjandana, who never thought would ever own his own clothes started his brand because of his standard of living. His mother was not working and he didn’t want to bother her with any of the needs he knew she would not provide. “I wanted something that will make me money and a clothing brand was the only thing I could start at the time.” he said. As someone who started his brand in a rush and in need of providing. He had zero knowledge of how to turn his dream of making money to a reality. Thanks to Luzuko ‘Ta Swazz’ Simani, Mint Clothing founder and the internet for being his aspirations. He drew much inspiration from the two and that’s what made the up and running SMOKE Clothing. SMOKE Clothing is a brand that’s widely catered for all individuals since it’s all about looking fire(good). “You know everyone wants to look dope but now it’s still new. There’s no factory I work with so it’s hard for me to do merch for 3 to 10 year olds.” he added.

The brand had its first photoshoot later last month with models, Latita Slara, Inathi Zazi, Asemahle Mntwa, Aphiwe Arosi and Sinovuyo Ndziweni who helped increase the sales of the brand although their work was a once off thing. Mbasa Peter and Ibenathi Barnes are the only confirmed brand ambassadors and Teddy Dyan is no longer working with SMOKE Clothing for unknown reasons.
For a brand that has been consistently dropping merch. Mjandana announced that he will drop caps alongside windbreakers, beanies and tracksuits. If you are interested in the brand’s merch, one can kindly direct message the Facebook page of the brand: SMOKE Clothing.
