NKWANCA PUPILS CONDUCT A MASSIVE STRIKE OVER BASIC NEEDS

The former chairperson of Nkwanca High School alongside two School Governing Body (SGB) members are refusing to step down after the new chairperson has been elected.

The Nkwanca pupils woke up to what for many background stricken public school pupils is a daily challenge. The need for food security and clean toilets is a human right on the published Constitution of Human Rights in South Africa. It is no secret that the first meal of the day and the first meal out of two meals (and supper at home) these pupils have per day on a general set up, they are fully dependent on school nutrition. The issue of school toilets being untidy is to a mental and a health issue, mostly to girls that might face severe virginal infections. The school’s former chairperson and two SGB members are standing in the way of children having access to their usual basic needs, the access to nutrition and clean toilets. The class reps of the school were tasked by Mr Nduna to inform the learners that the strike commences at 10 AM earlier today which saw learners being told to come to school tomorrow. There is though zero assurance if this issue will be solved
