Jimmy Backwoods released the highly anticipated debut project, Disturbing The Peace.

Jimmy Backwoods remains the most-streamed rapper on SoundCloud from Komani over a year of releasing music. The Bashayi Wea rapper had promised his fans to drop the E.P on 18 September 2021, which he postponed to 24 September 2021.

I just felt like alotta artists were quiet or not dropping any music, so me releasing the project was to basically shake the game and disturb everybody’s peace or silence.

Backwoods have featured household names on the project with features from X-Nado, Moose, Blxck X, JayFalis, Savage T, Moxry, and Pretoria’s finest, Dxniel Fxrbes. Most of the artists are his friends which basically make music with him since they are artists. Backwoods says that with the features he hopes to exchange fan bases with the featured artists and that’s the same drill for them too. Hence he didn’t manipulate the sound of every song on the tape because he opened the door for the featured artists to have the time to showcase their crafts. In structuring the project, Backwoods tripped everyone with the intro that’s purely a rap song, Ready Or Not.

I wanted to go hard on the first song so that people get a glimpse of what to expect then switch up the whole plot and expectation.

Ready Or Not is a diss track that Backwoods directs to a rapper that has been sneak dissing him for a while now, he says. He highlights that he was angry and didn’t even write the song. He was freestyling when Moose became crazy and the verse was not even on the track’s beat. Backwoods had to resample the sample that’s on Drake’s Poundcake to compliment the raps. When I asked him to name-drop the artist, he said that the other rapper is not worth mentioning. The second track on the E.P, Body Bag features X-Nado and Mxory. X-Nado has been working with Backwoods ever since Bashayi Wea, and their relationship has been solid since then. They might bless us with a joint project soon. Mxory is a Komani based artist that Backwoods heard his song, F.W.Y.S, and thought he fit very well on Body Bag. Body Bag is followed by MLDZ that most people assumed to be an acronym. MLDZ means melodies which is self-explanatory because they are singing on the song, using the same melody. A track that had no concept on the project is Miami which is produced by Dxniel Fxrbes. The track was recorded last year in June when Backwoods was still in Jo’burg. The beat was sent to Savage, and JayFalis, and then back to Backwoods to finish off the song. They spazzed on the beat because it went hard, and Miami became where they headed to. Movie is the oldest track on the project and Backwoods wanted Fxrbes on the track because his voice fit the beat perfectly. Backwoods, Savage T, JayFalis, and Fxrbes were under Fxrbes Entertainment last year which didn’t stand its time because of the distance between the artists. The outro of the project is the sequel of Bashayi Wea which features X-Nado whose on the original version of the song, Moose and JayFalis.

Backwoods hopes to gain new fans, collaborate with bigger artists, and blow up with his debut project.
