Gladdy Dime is a 16-year-old singer from Ezibeleni who is under Simbongile Baba’s recording label and is popularly known as Easy Dee. I learnt about Gladdy Dime through a snippet posted by Easy Dee on his WhatsApp status. I was curious about this Afro-soul singer that has hit our market. She has an interesting story under her armpits and it’s spiritually binding. She discovered that she had a spiritual gift at 14 and she’s what she referred as “teenage sangoma”. She started her musical journey last year and the songs she had recorded were not mixed and mastered.

I started writing songs last year and I even recorded them but only to find out that they were not mastered. The reason I started this journey of being a musician is because I realised that I am living this dream. Music is my priority and is where I find peace. Whenever I’m sad,music is the only thing that actually heals me.

Dime was robbed off money by people she recorded to priorsigning under Easy Dee. She learnt of Easy Dee last year when he asked her to make music and she refused because she was afraid and doubtful. She took aleap of faith this year and she’s happy under his management.

Dime released her debut single, Ndihamba Naye two weeks ago on YouTube and she’s been fulfilled with the reception. She achieved 131 views mark on YouTube with her debut single. She keen to work with Soul Melodies locally and is set to release more music soon. Her grand wish is to get official sponsors one day to build a school where she’s gonna nurture young minds.
