Body-built to be one of the best models to emerge from Komani, Hlumela Ndaba has had quite a decent journey for someone of her liking.

In a society that is challenging the naturally built models, Hlumela Ndaba objectively remains a rare set of a calibre that is a primary set for pageantry modelling. In a compromised situation, she saw herself in because of insecurities built around her body, skin tone, and height, she couldn’t see herself as a potential model. She has since dedicated her journey to making young girls under her wing see their potential beyond their set insecurities.
Well, the first pegeant was in high school, I think 2014 for Mr and Miss Kwa Komani . Yho, first time I was scared, nervous and even shaking when I am smiling . The audience was doing the most but as the competition went on I loosened up but the shaking when smiling did not stop. After that competition I felt like yho hay I can’t deal with this the shaking ,being scared and all . But my mom encouraged me that I should keep entering so that I may get used and I did just that . There will always the nerves when you go out there hearing the crowd but I can control them unlike when it was for the first time
By the way, Ndaba’s mother foresaw her modelling potential before she could and has been her source of inspiration throughout. Having Zozibini Tunzi, Tamaryn Green, and Lalela Mswane as her aspirations is a confidence booster in itself, especially with these individuals achieving the deemed impossible things in their respective careers. In a provincial set pageant, Miss Winter Angels SA, she, unfortunately, missed the opportunity of partaking in the contest because of personal problems, although having been chosen as one of the finalists.

It is not all hope lost as she is set to bless the Miss Royal Empire SA stage and once again prove why she’s worth being named alongside the greats. The event will be live and the date hasn’t been set yet. Wishing her all the good luck in the world. Ciao!
