Iviwe Mbane took to Facebook three days ago to break the news that she is a rape survivor and has created a podcast streaming on Spotify to tell all about what happened to her and her journey of healing.
The above attached screenshots are the 6-minute episode of Iviwe Mbane’s podcast, Uncovered Scars and a letter titled, ‘Teething’ she wrote about her sister. The episode is a trailer for what content is she going to cover on her podcast. The letter gives the hint of her being raped as a minor, which keeps everyone in suspense for the second episode which will cover what happened to her. Iviwe’s podcast is the third podcast to emerge locally in Komani after Sbu Tomson’s The Round Table and Wise VSOP’s WhatsPoppin_22. Iviwe had concluded on the first episode that the podcast isn’t inclusive to rape survivors only but everyone else because we have friends and family members who are rape survivors. Her space will be a safe space and a learning curve.
