Prince Whyte has been music since the age of 14 as Exotic and his reign is not seeming to be fading to this day.

A used to be battle rapper, Prince Whyte was popularly known as Exotic. Exotic was a battle cat who got famous with a song titled Ndibathanda Bobabini. Unlike Exotic, Prince Whyte is a story teller and is very compassionate. Exotic showed no emotions like the current rapper character, Prince Whyte and was inspired by Rattex who is a Cape Town rapper where Whyte was born. The Umthandazo rapper has had some bad blood to lick in the industry as he has been involved in plenty of feuds. He is though set to not entertain any of negative energy he will come across. The transition from Exotic to Prince Whyte was done of paths he crossed in the industry and inspirations he aspired to be. “Growing up you cross paths with people who have been where you are at that particular moment. You then decide whether you wanna stay there or move to the next level. Fact is that Prince is my second name and Whyte is my mom’s surname. I decided to use my names to honour my mom since I never had a chance to talk to her.” he said. Whyte lost his mother at an early age and the very first time he had guts to be factual about how he feels about his mother’s absence. Dear Ma featuring Asemahle is the song he confided in. “Dear Ma is a song that I actually planned to record a long time ago but because of I took time on healing I decided not to record it. After a period of time I decided to release it and let the world know how I feel. Asemahle is a great singer, she came across and I gave her the beat and the concept, well she nailed it.” he added. Prince Whyte as a brand represents three images, a musician, a photographer and a radio personality. The most common parts of his brands are a musician and a photographer. “The musical one is actually different from the photographer. I don’t even think about photography when I write a song. The only time they link is when I think of visuals of any song I wrote and recorded.” he added. Whyte is a Lukhanji FM radio presenter and he does a weekend night show that makes people start their weekend in style. He also with his show assists artists grow their music by playing three song from local artists every week.
Whyte recently dropped a song titled It’s Over featuring IAM3AM who’s a beautiful singer. The song is about a break up and Whyte wrote it post break up with his previous girlfriend. IAM3AM is an artist Whyte saw on City Awards and contacted for a feature and the rest was history. Whyte is working on an EP where Dear Ma and It’s Over are listed on and he’s set to drop some new merch. Under his recording label, P-Media Entertainment, he signed four artists namely, Middle Man, Saint Royalle, Nightmare and Asemahle and he’s not signing anyone yet. His recording label has a partnership with Authentic Blend Co, a recording studio, graphic design and artist management company. Whyte has been part of Miss Schools Eastern Cape since its establishment and this is what he had to say, “It has been amazing as I meet new people every year and knowing what other people think is the best thing. Miss Schools Eastern Cape has given me a chance to work with people and get to practice my other side of being an MC. So I am enjoying the opportunity.”.
