A Gqeberha born rising star which recently resides in Whittlesea started singing at her home and church at age 5/6. In primary, her teacher in Girl’s High School picked up that she would amount to be a superstar. She went as far as pushing her to practice her talent more often as her music teacher. In 2017, she was invited by a friend to visit her church for a music competition that is a resemblance to Idols S.A. That’s when he saw Leo Brown rapping which she really rooted for internally because they didn’t speak that day. In 2019, the year Brown moved from Hexagon High to Hangklip where Khanya is a learner of is when they finally met. Brown didn’t hesitate to get Khanya to jump on U and Khanya was up for it too. In a session of U’s curation in Brown’s bedroom studio, Khanya felt so powerful and from right there she knew that this music thing is hers. From that day, more records between her and Brown came to light including Don’t Forget Me which has Khanya’s best friend since childhood, Dino Black as a feature and the song that has been owning 2021 so far in Komani Hip Hop scene, Stanley Park. Stanley Park has landed Brown on various radio stations including being played on the #1 radio station in South Africa, Umhlobo Wenene FM. Khanya said that there was no greater moment in her life like when Stanley Park was playing on Umhlobo Wenene FM as her family was dancing and chanting like nobody’s business. She found a voice in doing music which is something she hasn’t shared with anyone other than Leo Brown. Brown has freed Khanya to work with other artists but it’s her chemistry with Brown that doesn’t allow her to work with other artists that makes her fear being introduced to a hazardous creative process. Khanya isn’t promising any of more music as she is still doubtful of battling to fit the stance of Beyoncé whom she idolises. Beyoncé is who Khanya sees herself standing out from when she sings because although she gets all the inspiration from her. She dare to differ in sound. Khanya also believes that the Komani entertainment industry is growing although lack of resources delays most passionate artists.
