YUNG SAVAGE IS TRAPPING HARD

Yung Savage started this music thing with only a dream of being the best in town. It went from biting other emcee’s lines to catching flame of writing his own music.

Started by biting from Cape Town’s very own Spaza rapper, Rattex, Yung Savage found a spot for consolation in Rattex’s music and lived through it in 2007. Yung Savage finally found his feet after 2007 but couldn’t find most people to share his artistry with. 2015 came with his solo single, I’m Cool With That that made him the known artist he is today.

Back in the days until now. It was hard when I started up because it was hard to record our music. We used to travel to far places to record this music. It would also take time to get our songs from the far studios we recorded from due to their mixing and mastering. Lately, I’m cool because I have a studio to record my music anytime. We do everything where we live in now under Queenstown Nation. We also get easily recognised now and our songs can reach +500 streams/downloads. This time is the time because we know the relevant music platforms to upload our music unlike back in the days.

Savage said that it’s a blessing and a curse to be compared with every new artist that blows up in the local scene because he shows how relevant he still is. He added that unlike other rappers who lie on their song, he is not one of them. That’s what keeps him an inspiration to the young generation because he doesn’t have to act what he portrays in his music. He said that his realness is also what have been keeping him relevant because his music is relatable to Komani residents. Yung Savage is just allergic to capping unlike other rappers who got ices on their necks that are filled on their home’s fridges.

Yung Savage’s dream collabo is with Roll Up hitmaker, Emtee Da Hustla because Emtee is real and do inspiring music according to Yung Savage. He is also inspired by Emtee’s hustle of coming from a shack, left by his parents in Jozi, Ambitious Entertainment royalties saga and still be balling this hard regardless. Yung Savage is such a lover of local music and its artist and couldn’t be more proud of Komani artists. The biggest shout outs went to Four4 Max, Tee Man, Moose, Headmaster and Gunslinger.

Yung Savage dropped his new music, Whyyoutrappingsohard.Vol1 on the 28th of May which is his birthday. He is madly grateful for the people that have been lending his latest music a listen as it has been highly anticipated since last year.  Unlike most cats of this generation in the music industry and the way most recording labels have done artists dirty, Yung Savage wants to be signed.

I don’t wanna stay independent, I wanna get signed. I need a record deal because I want to be out there too and work for that particular company. I want to see things differently and explore different parts of the industry at large. To feel how it feels to get promoted professionally and have a team working on your brand.

Yung Savage said his piece to his fellow followers saying that to achieve whatever they have in mind. They should stick to their lane because that’s the most important thing in life after prayer. Choices are also as twice important and ambition to your dreams.
