Whittlesea based entertainer, Yamkela Kalolo invaded the clothing brand industry with DirtySteez clothing brand and the rest was history.

Kalolo, known for his bubbly personality on social media is what you can call a practical support system of local brands. Any Komani clothing brand Kalolo haven’t rocked isn’t yet hot. Kalolo gained traction when he was named one of DirtySteez brand ambassadors earlier this year. Unfortunately, Kalolo have already part ways with the clothing brand because of their miscommunication, lack of team work and the brand was distorting his exploration in the industry. For Kalolo whose his image as a brand is always to be approachable and flexible, Blvck045 Clothing had to be the escape for exploration. Blvck045 is Komani’s most loved brand that had its break last year during first section of lockdown and has been established in August 2019.
“The terms of being a brand ambassador in Blvck 045 is that they know the style of people that is needed and they look for what the youth like to wearand their brand is going places. Being unique as a brand ambassador, having capabilities and abilities of being a brand ambassador, allowing yourself to explore the world of customers’ needs and wants of the brand is what I have been for Blvck045 Clothing.”

The commission is 20% for a brand ambassador on Blvck045 Clothing for any customer a brand ambassador gets. Kalolo had experienced the good and the bad as a homosexual. The pronoun “he” doesn’t bother him though like most homosexuals who prefer “they” because he believes that it has zero impact in reducing his sexuality. The sad side of things for Kalolo is not getting to be comfortable enough to wear certain garments that set the room on fire because of people’s absent attention to current trends and having to be a well-known influencer to regain his comfortability. The bright side though has been the fact that some reach out to him for style and are willing to learn and unlearn the new jargon of sexuality and provides a safe space for him as a creative.
“No, I don’t think they support the LGBTQIA+ community because they all do the same thing which are hoodies, sweaters and pants. There’s nothing new for homosexuals. I think they should make pride related clothing so as to celebrate & support the gay community. As for my brand, hard work will grow my brand. Learning from the past and what nearly ruined my reputation so as to not allow history to repeat itself. Putting more time & lot of effort into my craft are going to grow my brand. A brand that all ages will been keen to wear and take pictures wearing , I wanna grow a brand that will be multi-purposal where you would attend funerals , concerts and events and find people rocked it up.”
