Debuted in 2018, JayFalis has been improving his sound from Views and Vices to Faces.

JayFalis is undoubtedly one of Komani’s best lyricists and made it his priority to create quality music. An upcoming artist you can never call umrepha because of how his music has quality and how his discography is stored. Being one of the very first artists to have his music on all digital platforms showed how serious he is of his craft. At 17 is when JayFalis started doing music and Nkawza featuring Blxck X and Fuego Fredy is the first song he uploaded on his SoundCloud account. It was not any later before he released his first project, Views and Vices in 2019 which was an experiment to him as a producer and a recording artist. He grew a pair and released Shadows EP the following year which was the EP he found himself and own sound in.

“Well, there’s a trend I notice with most artists, upcoming artists in particular. We tend to try to be like other mainstream artists that are more successful than us or at least we borrow the personas and/or talk about what they talk about. Basically, individuality is lacking.”

Eminem played a huge role in JayFalis’s beautiful craft as he’s one of the first rappers he actually started listening to. JayFalis liked how raw and honest Eminem is, his storytelling, insane wordplay, bars and flows. Above all he was impressed by Eminem’s journey from rags to riches. He could say the same with J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Logic and Drake. JayFalis is also familiar with being sneak dissed but rappers are good actors. So they come and apologise to him but he said that the rappers are not worth mentioning.

“Sonically I feel like Faces EP is my best project. Highlight the production because I produced 50% of it myself. The rest was Abu On The Best, shout-out to him. More than anything it solidifies my stance as a musical artist. I learnt a lot about myself and just production in general while making it and I’ve added more tools to my arsonal. That to me is priceless. I’m also happy that it’s received well across all digital platforms.”

Faces EP is available on all digital platforms from 4 July 2014. JayFalis is grateful to his fans and promises more fire music.
