Kwanda Mahlombe has been on masses’ mouths ever since last year for his vocalist skills and getting the golden ticket on Idols S.A 2021 walks the talk.

Mahlombe has a privilege of growing up in a very musical family. At a tender age, he was taught keyboard playing which was a first element of music he resonated with. With well taught skills he developed, he ended up being his church’s keyboard player. It was through his Arts and Culture classes in primary that Mahlombe realised his gift for music, his voice. From singing for Arts and Culture purposes to his peers pleading him to sing whenever their ears yearned for an amazing voice. Mahlombe entertained this musical gift of his as he later joined the school choir and led the assembly with hymns every morning of prayer. He started getting so fond of his gift that all he ever wished for it, is for the world to adore it. He started to make videos from his home and with friends singing and would share the videos on all social media platforms. His jaw dropping virtual perfomances landed on eyes of Lady Zamar, Ami Faku and Vusi Nova to name a few A-lister celebrities that praised Mahlombe’s musical skills.

On the 6th of July 2020, Mahlombe shared a video where he sang Ndizakulinda by Vusi Nova and this is the beautiful response he got.

Mahlombe has been inspired from since by AmaBlesser‘s hitmaker, Mlindo The Vocalist and this is the same inspiration that led him to follow on Mlindo’s footsteps for the longest time. Those who might have witnessed Mlindo’s growth could attest to the fact that Mlindo grew his fanbase through making cover songs as Mahlombe is currently doing. Mahlombe had received a lot of offers from recording labels that are on their baby steps and Mahlombe had declined in the name of knowing what he’s palnning to achieve with his current efforts to break the market.
“I want people that will grow me, not people that want to grow to the ladder by me and dash me out at the end of the day.”
Mahlombe haven’t made his own music since because he haven’t gotten to a space where he wants to be in. Although he is still not open to push his own music, he has given Leo Brown a beautiful intro to his latest EP, B L U E M O O N where Mahlombe is featured. Mahlombe has achieved a lot with only his work ethic at play. Komani’s music producer/engineer, Mcebisi Shenxane volunteered to assist Mahlombe in giving the professional production feel to his cover songs videos and did so excellently. The cover songs that were produced by Mcebisi Shenxane alongside Jayde Sean Issacs and Sibulele Balintulo are posted on Mahlombe’s YouTube channel and are Ukuthand”umntu by Olothando Ndamase and Intliziyo by Lloyiso and Langa Mavuso.
Last night, Facebook was ablaze with people showing most deserved love to Mahlombe after auditioning and proceeding to the Theatre Week after facing Randall Abrahams, Somizi Mhlongo, Unathi Nkayi and Zwai Bala. This was an iconic moment to begin with in Mahlombe’s ongoing career.
“Well, I’ll start by saying that it really wasn’t easy. I had to face my weaknesses, having stage frights and all. It means a lot to me because I gained a lot of confidence and I’m planning on reaching my goals in a very short period of time. Exposure and recognition are the main things I’m looking forward to. Not to win the competition obviosly, but I’d appreciate that too. Judges believed in me and made me believe in myself too. It means a lot to me. I trust myself now and I’ll never stop pushing to reach my goal. Ultimatum!”
Mahlombe expect nothing other than to uplift his fan base and support on his Idols S.A journey. The same goal he wants to achieve as he does his covers and make mini videos through his social medial platforms. That’s his specific goal he wants to achieve by the end of the year.
