The fresh prince of Queenstown, Zusakhe Power Daba, has elevated further in pursuing his dreams.

Daba has achieved yet another milestone in his long ongoing acting career, as he plays Andrew in Moja Love TV channel’s series, Ufelani. Daba’s love for acting showed itself when he was with “Avengers” a team they formed in church for youth activities. Avengers were Power Daba, Yonela Klaas, Awuvuyina Ndidwa, Zukhanye Daba (big brother), and others. Daba would ask them to do a sketch, act out something that’s bible related, and they happily did so with no problem. Daba directed the sketches with his experience from a behind-the-scenes show that played before Wrestling on eTV. Daba grew from sketches to skits where Avengers were the main actors, shot with his Nokia Express Music between 2008 and 2010. Daba and the rest of the Avengers crew would go around the township sending their people these skits before social media was a thing in his life. Daba grew a pair of passion with this acting gift. Although kids and teachers would laugh at him most of the time he said that he’d be an actor, he never backed down. He now holds a qualification in professional acting, presenting, and voice-over graduated from City Varsity. The varsity experience has helped Daba learn discipline that he has to apply towards his craft. He had the privilege of being featured in the award-winning movie, Inkondlo acted by City Varsity students.

Daba did a lot of theatre work post-2017 after doing the Inkondlo film. Theatre became his first love before television because of its rawness, and he also loves live performances because they make one grow as an actor. Daba brought a theatre show in Komani with his friends, Phila “King SMS” Zwide, Mbongeni Ngema, Percy Mthwa, and Barney Simon, titled WOZA ALBERT!

Funny enough at first, it was just an idea something we just talked about in a club, few weeks later we took it seriously, made some phone calls, had few meetings and we started with rehearsals. We never had a plan on how to go about doing it we just took it as we go. We had no sponsors whatsoever I funded the project with the help from my supportive parents. Initially I wanted something to inspire Queenstown youth, something different from music festivals and also get my campaign which is called Help A Sista Campaign off the ground as I would like to help unfortunate girls who can’t afford sanitary towels you know. So the show was a great idea since theatre is not a thing really in my hometown. I made an entrance fee to be different with my guy I worked with Philangezwi Nxumalo from KZN we met in the industry and now we’re brothers ey man, so instead of the money people had to have at least 1 packet of sanitary towels to enter as our aim was to motivate and not gain anything from this initiative and after we donate them to schools, we managed to donate eMinah T Soga, Sixishe I forgot the 3rd school now… So we had no team it was just the 2 of us in this and damn man I appreciate people Komani so much they trully supported us man to donate that much. And yes, the idea came out perfectly as we planned and more
Daba is also an MC, and most bookings come from that stream. He had hosted a lot of shows in Komani and now the platform is broader now that he’s residing in Braamfontein.

Daba broke the news on the 16th of September that he will make his debut in the fourth season of Ufelani which plays every Thursday at 9pm on Moja Love TV, channel 157 on DSTV.
It’s actually Andrew, my agent and I made a mistake there eish. My friend Phila told me they’re casting for Ufelani that night and I got a call from a casting director there asking for my availability, the day after we went and we shot those scenes I was in. So I got that gig the way many actors get gigs fortunately I didn’t have to audition for it.
Andrew is a deceiving and conniving individual who was arrested for his crimes and would do anything to survive. The only thing which is they share the township, they know that township life.
Believe in yourself kid, never underestimate your worth, stay humble and put God 1st in whatever you do.
