Anelisiwe Tyalana started engaging in public duties in 2017. She started small and eventually, the philanthropic bug bit her. Her debut work was assisting girls with their academic work and boys with forming a football team. She pursued public speaking to surrounding schools in Elinge and donated sanitary towels and clothes for young girls who are in need. She has recently opened a platform for young boys and girls, where they are to express their beauty and handsomeness. And that’s when Mr. & Miss Teen Elinge was born in 2021, with a successful debut annual event. The first annual event was held on 14 December 2021. I reached out to Tyalana about why modeling? The winners were Hlumelo Frans being Miss Teen Ilinge, Esihle Beyile being the 1st Princess, Mihle Ntoyanto being 2nd Princess, and Wandile Rataza being Mr. Teen Ilinge, Lifa Vimbelo being 1st Prince, Lutho Ndonga being 2nd Prince, and Sangiwe Mdawe being Miss Social Butterfly.

Modelling gives young people a platform to embrace their bodies without being judged. We leave in an era where there’s a lack of confidence amongst our teenagers and modelling is preparing to bring back that confidence because we welcome every body size, height, and skin tone. Years ago, modelling was only skinny, tall girls but now we changed the game. Everyone is welcome regardless of their background body shape and size.

She believes that the ability she has to have a good heart is her home thing. She added that even when she was still in high school, she would make means to bring extra pads for others. She has a lot in store for this year’s pageant that will be hosted by 01 October 2022.
