KAY NOIR, SELF-PROCLAIMED BLACK YOUNG KING

Thanks to Dee Koala’s Ndisntwemp, Kay Noir is a testimony of her fearless push for the Xhosa trap music.

Kay Noir (supplied)

At age 14, Kay Noir was given studio time by Manani Xvibe Beats, and from then, he fulfilled the dream he saw shallowly in the likes of Dee Koala and Bhut’Legend. This Dutywa-bred rising star had the privilege of getting the last name of his stage name from one of his biggest inspirations, August Waters. August Waters is a musician and poet based in Dutywa and named him Noir. Noir learnt how to walk in the industry through his teachings.

He named me NOIR because when i sent these verses to him i used to write about how we are in these black societies and what is happening .

In The Hood EP art cover

Noir worked with Blxck Chess in a duo EP, In The Hood, which displays their livelihoods in the township.

The making of In The Hood EP with BLXCK CHESS was never a plan but we noticed that we have a lot of music that we made together and wasn’t released then we had a listening session and that’s how we came up with the titles.

Four4 Max is the leading local artist on Noir’s bucket list to work with. Lee Cornell, Xnatio, Supreme, and Blingie Beast are amongst local artists he would love to work with. He is set to release a single next titled eNextdoor featuring Queezy soon.
