Moose opens up about the revolution of Komani’s Hip Hop scene, from the streets to the internet.
Post-2010 to 2018, the Komani Hip Hop scene was on the streets, and that’s when groups like Low Noise, One Touch, and MSP emerged to rule the scene. Moose was part of Low Noise, which consisted of himself, X-Nado, Sthezo, and Sva.
“Me and Taylor Beats started Low Noise through chemistry. We had a lot in common, plus QTN recording labels were beefing with each other at the time, MSP and One Touch. I couldn’t fuck with the energy they had and Low Noise was a perfect start, the new energy felt great.”
Low Noise split and New Era Entertainment was established with Moose and X-Nado making the cut from the previous group. Moose says that beefs before the internet were intense, and there were a lot of physical fights. The healthiest beef he can recall is the one had with MadRhymer at the time.
Moose is inspired by Meek Mill and the Philadelphia-bred rapper is an exception to him because of being a true storyteller.
“The secret behind my music is telling a story, it doesn’t matter if I rap or trap. I always do it and I told this to Jimmy Backwoods, X-Nado, and Soska. And it’s working out for me very good”.
Moose is one artist who believes in the power of collaboration. Outside of his recent single, Chim Chosi featuring Soska & Jimmy Backwoods, and Ukhala Ngani featuring X-Nado & Soska, he has worked with Blxck X & $noxx Melodic. He says that the missing link in the Komani Hip Hop industry is love because rappers are super jealous of each other. He added that he’s working on an EP coming soon.
