Mvgnum D.Flex has had such a beautiful year this year. Andina S’khathi by himself w/ L-ReA featuring ForeverBrokenAuntray is sitting on over 16.5K plays on SoundCloud. Flex, an artist specialising in Dancehall music, had a change of heart this time and went entirely Hip Hop & Rap for his new EP. Despite the fact that releasing this EP was part of a fill-in to keep his fans waiting for Andina S’khathi’s upcoming music video. Sidenote: Codeine Poetry has achieved a 1K play mark on all its 4 songs in a week.

“CODEINE POETRY like I mentioned on a Facebook that, this is not a body of work, I wrote these songs as singles & since the music video is still in it’s delayed processes I decided to combine these 4 songs & make an, “EP” because each song has its own story in terms of what I speak about on them which eventually creates the bigger picture of the title, “Codeine Poetry”. A Proper 11 Track Project Is Already In The Works Of Which Will Hopefully Drop Next Year On My Mom’s Birthday.”

Apparently, this is the first and last project of Flex’s you will have the privilege of streaming on SoundCloud. He combined rap songs for this project because he didn’t feel like rappers were rapping anymore.

“I didn’t like what niggas are rapping about, it just didn’t make sense in my head that niggas expect people to stream their shit while they boasting about how many b*tches they f*cked etc, I then took a huge self-introspection & wondered what people feel when they listen to my music? Do they take some advice from some songs? Do they really connect with the lyrics? That’s when I decided that I should shy away from the singing a bit & start writing about things that people never talk about & hopefully provide some advice at the same time through the raps.”
