Ezibeleni has been carrying Komani so long with scooping golden tickets on Idols S.A and Athule Konki continued the tradition.

Athule Konki who is one the members of Soul Melodies warmed everyone’s hearts when he scooped a golden ticket on Idols S.A a week ago. His reign comes after last year’s Asanda Majelimani and Sikho Naphina Nomnganga’s reign that led to Majelimani being eliminated on the first round and Nomnganga on the second round of Theatre week. They are all from Ezibeleni part of Komani and the hold the flag tight for the town at large. As big as this is for the whole town, it is too big for Konki’s colleagues too, Soul Melodies. The Afro-soul group of 5 has been making waves and have had the privilege of perfoming in Hemingways Mall in East London. And having one of the representatives showering the national stage is an archive to keep preciously.

The group that have roughly started being at everyone’s hearts and eyes in 2017 has sent one of its soldiers to war. Konki has the best direction as the local success of Soul Melodies makes him compete at his best on a national platform. The people mostly anticipate the Theatre Week to continue reading the book of history written and so is he journey within and without the group keeps inspiring. Unfortunately so, Konki didn’t respond to a request I sent him meant to find out how is he in terms of the greatest milestone he has achieved.
